If so, in order to comply with Federal & State Guidelines, the tank(s) must be upgraded or replaced. These regulations set forth strict rules for the underground storage of petroleum and hazardous substances.

These guidelines govern the following situations:

		An existing tank is being replaced with a new tank
		A tank is taken out-of-service permanently
		A tank has been temporarily out-of-service for more than one year

Many potential buyers are reluctant to undertake real estate purchases without assurances that the land and groundwater have not been contaminated by current or past spills.

Are You Considering Replacing or Upgrading an Existing UST?

Not sure whether to upgrade your existing UST or replace it entirely with a new underground double wall fiberglass, or above ground double wall steel tank? Action can provide you with cost effective options based upon site specific conditions and regulatory requirements for your area.

If you have an underground storage tank that was installed prior to December 22, 1988, it must meet the following requirements:

LEAK DETECTION -- allowing for the detection of leaking product from any point of the tank system (tank and associated piping).

SPILL/OVERFILL PROTECTION -- equipped with an overfill alarm system, and a fill spill catchment basin to contain potential spills during deliveries.

CORROSION PROTECTION -- tank (if steel), to have a corrosion resistent coating AND Cathodic Protection.

When the above stated requirements for retrofitting of an existing tank are impractical, a replacement tank is often the best solution. Whether an aboveground tank, or a double wall fiberglass UST, Action will provide for a 'turnkey' project.
